Senior Civil Engineer

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Civil/Site Project Manager to join a growing civil engineering team in Nashville, Tennessee. This individual will lead projects across a diverse portfolio of land development assignments, including commercial, industrial, mixed-use, residential, and municipal developments.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with project management and client-facing skills to successfully deliver projects from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage civil site development projects from initial planning through construction completion.
• Oversee the preparation of site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility design, and erosion control plans.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource allocation.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, designers, and support staff.
• Review engineering plans, specifications, technical reports, and permitting documents.
• Manage entitlement, zoning, and permitting processes with local jurisdictions.
• Support business development efforts through client relationship management and proposal preparation.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist with their professional development.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain Tennessee PE through reciprocity.6+ years of experience in civil engineering and land development.
• Proven experience managing projects and client relationships.
• Strong knowledge of site development design, stormwater management, utilities, grading, and permitting.
• Proficiency with Auto
• CAD Civil 3D.Experience with Hydrology and Hydraulic software such as Hydro
• CAD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, or Storm
• CAD preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Experience

Commercial, multifamily, mixed-use, industrial, or residential land development projects.

Nashville Metro permitting experience or familiarity with Tennessee regulatory requirements.

Existing relationships with developers, architects, contractors, or municipal agencies in the region.

Experience assisting with business development and pursuing new client opportunities.
