Receptionist and Administrative Assistant

The Law Office of Jonathan D. Mishkin, P.C. seeks a full-time Receptionist for our Portland office in Sellwood. This is an in-house position; remote work is not an option. This position is temporary for a 90-day probationary period. Upon satisfactory attendance and performance at the end of the probation period, an offer of full-time employment will be made.

Duties

• Answering Phones
• Scheduling and confirming appointments with potential and existing clients
• Phone and email communication with clients and potential clients
• Scanning, processing, and distributing incoming correspondence
• Preparing and sending outgoing mail and faxes
• Logging mail in Excel (requires beginner level experience in Excel)
• Delivering mail to post office
• Formatting estate plan documents for signing (requires intermediate/advanced proficiency in MS Word)
• Collecting information and documents from clients
• Organizing electronic files
• File maintenance, including opening files, scanning closed files
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (by applying you certify that you meet all qualifications):

• Minimum two (2) years’ office experience in a legal or court setting
• Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
• Proficiency in a PC environment (Windows 11 Pro) and cloud storage (Box, Dropbox)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, Acrobat Pro
• Must be reliable, punctual, and dependable
• Possess excellent communication skills and grammar

Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in a casual business environment with free parking. Work attire is business casual.

Hourly pay up to $26.00, commensurate with experience and skills. Benefits include paid health, dental, and vision insurance (effective first month after hire), 401(k) (effective after first payroll), PTO (after 90 days), and paid holidays.
