Bilingual Japanese/English Chemical Engineer (Semiconductor industry)(CA/YM)

A Semiconductor company is seeking a Bilingual Japanese/English Chemical Engineer to join their team in Hillsboro, Oregon. This position is responsible for safely conducting testing of prototype products, development samples, and raw materials. A bachelor's degree or master's degree, 1 year or 3 years of chemical research and development experience, and the ability to speak, read and write in Japanese is required.

This is a full-time, in-person, exempt position with excellent benefits and 401K. Some relocation assistance is provided

Bilingual Japanese/English Chemical Engineer Duties

-Inspect and assess job site conditions and equipment to identify hazards or malfunctions, ensuring safe and efficient operations

-Operate computers and office technology with high accuracy and judgment to manage and present business documents and data

-Analyze and interpret complex data accurately, communicating technical information clearly to various audiences

-Adherence to corporate, State and Federal regulations and guidelines

-Conduct research and development of a specific formulation

-Solve technical problems and recommend solutions

-Test and analyses new formulations and/or raw materials using analytical and performance equipment/instruments

-Conduct performance demonstrations of new formulation with or without customer attendance at laboratory

-Reads and interprets patents, research articles, and developing documentation.

-Communicates and collaborates with Research and Development

-Participates in external technical meeting with customer if necessary

-Obtains necessary data and documentation for scaling lab-level prototypes to mid/high volume manufacturing

-Provides custom manufacturing of chemical solutions for customers and internal evaluations

Bilingual Japanese/English Chemical Engineer Skills

-Must have a bachelor’s or master's in chemistry or related field

-1 year of chemical research and development experience with a master's OR

-3 years of chemical research and development experience with a bachelors

-Must be able to speak, read and write Japanese

-Experience in semiconductor is plus, but not required

-Practical working knowledge of requirements for scale-up and manufacturing of new chemical products is a plus
