Structural Engineer (0-4 Years of Experience)

We are seeking early-career structural engineers to join our team.

Our projects range from the small to the complex with construction values exceeding $400 million. Engineers at Catena work directly with firm Principals who remain actively involved in project design and mentorship. Because of our small firm environment, engineers are exposed to a wide range of materials, project types, and responsibilities, and are involved in projects from early design through construction.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and engineering calculations using structural design software and hand calculations
• Develop structural design concepts, calculations, and technical reports
• Assist in preparation of structural construction documents using Revit
• Coordinate structural design with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
• Participate in site visits and structural observations of construction progress
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs
• Support project teams through all phases from schematic design through construction

Qualifications

• 0–4 years of professional structural engineering experience
• BS in Architectural Engineering (structural focus), or MS or M.Eng in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Passed FE exam or working toward EIT certification
• Strong foundation in structural engineering fundamentals
• Knowledge of IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and NDS design codes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using Revit and Bluebeam Revu preferred
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow
