Senior Laboratory Assistant - Pathology

Providence St. Patrick Hospital is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Senior Laboratory Assistant to join our Pathology team. In this important role, you will provide technical and administrative support to our laboratory staff. The ideal candidate will have prior lab experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work quickly and accurately.

Required Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent• Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience• Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control standards• Ability to work independently and with a team• Computer literacy and experience with laboratory software• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for long periods of time, and work with hazardous materials

Responsibilities

Provide technical and administrative support to laboratory staff.

Maintain laboratory safety and infection control standards.

Operate laboratory software and equipment.

Perform accurate laboratory testing.

Monitor and maintain laboratory records.

Troubleshoot and resolve laboratory issues.

Collect, record, and analyze laboratory data.

Prepare specimens for testing.

Maintain laboratory supplies and materials.

Assist with research projects.

Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals.

Lift and move heavy objects, stand for long periods of time, and work with hazardous materials.
