Barista / Kitchen helper with Experience for our Cafe near Brandon (33619)

We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Barista/Kitchen Helper to join our team at an Asian bakery and café. This position is a hybrid role that includes helping in both the front of the house and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has a positive attitude, and is willing to learn and support the team wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve Boba drinks, coffee drinks, and other café beverages with consistency and care
• Assist with food and drink prep, including tea, syrup, jelly, Boba, and simple kitchen preparation
• Help fry food items and assist with fryer station duties safely and efficiently
• Help prepare bakery and kitchen items during busy periods
• Support the kitchen team with cleaning, stocking, ingredient prep, and organizing
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas
• Wash dishes and keep kitchen tools/equipment clean and organized
• Provide friendly and professional customer service
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately when needed
• Follow food safety and workplace safety procedures at all times
• Assist other team members during downtime and help keep operations running smoothly

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of restaurant, café, bakery, kitchen, or barista experience required
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills
• Willingness to help both front of house and back of house operations
• Highly ethical, trustworthy, and accountability-driven
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate-weight items
• Flexible schedule with availability for weekends and evenings
• Food safety certification preferred (or willingness to obtain one)
• Bilingual candidates who speak Chinese, Vietnamese, or Thai are a plus
