Per Diem
- $50/day per diem + hotel provided for employees working more than 65 miles from their home
- Per diem paid for every day worked
Position Summary
We are currently hiring an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Foreman to lead field crews on geotechnical and deep foundation construction projects throughout the state of Florida.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for directing daily jobsite operations, supervising crews, coordinating with Project Managers and Superintendents, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to specification.
The ideal candidate has experience in heavy civil construction with geotechnical or deep foundation work, strong leadership abilities, and the technical knowledge to keep crews productive while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily field operations from mobilization through project completion
- Supervise crews of 4–8 operators, laborers, and subcontractors
- Monitor production rates and communicate daily progress, delays, and resource needs to Project Managers
- Coordinate crew staging, equipment positioning, and material flow to maximize efficiency
- Serve as a working foreman by actively assisting with field operations while supervising the crew
- Troubleshoot field conditions including soil, weather, equipment, and site access issues to maintain production
- Assign daily work activities and hold crew members accountable for safety, quality, and productivity
- Mentor field personnel and resolve employee issues as needed
- Review construction drawings, specifications, boring logs, and geotechnical reports
- Identify discrepancies between plans and field conditions and communicate them to project management
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) meetings
- Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific safety requirements
- Maintain Red Zone controls around operating equipment and stop work when unsafe conditions exist
- Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and ensure deficiencies are corrected
- Complete Daily Field Reports (DFRs), production logs, equipment reports, and project documentation
- Photograph work progress and maintain accurate records of completed work
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and inspectors to ensure successful project execution
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of heavy civil construction experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Foreman or Crew Lead with direct supervisory responsibilities
- Experience with geotechnical, deep foundation, driven pile, drilled shaft, earth retention, or marine construction preferred
- Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, cranes, drill rigs, auger systems, impact/vibratory hammers, and heavy construction equipment
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, shop drawings, boring logs, specifications, and geotechnical reports
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Valid Florida Driver's License with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 Certification
- OSHA 30 Certification
- NCCCO Crane Operator or Rigger/Signal Person Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification

Physical Requirements

- Willingness to travel throughout Florida and work overtime when needed
