Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid - 3 Days/Week Onsite)

Duration: Contract-to-Hire

Pay Rate: Up to $70/hour W2 (Based on Experience)

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a newly formed Shared Services Engineering team supporting multiple enterprise applications across a major financial services organization.

This is a unique opportunity for a well-rounded engineer who enjoys working across application development, DevOps, automation, operational engineering, and platform modernization. Rather than specializing in one technology, you'll help build reusable engineering solutions that improve developer productivity and modernize enterprise applications.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
• Develop reusable automation frameworks, shared libraries, and engineering tools used across multiple application teams
• Establish SDLC best practices including branching strategies, versioning, code reviews, and release management
• Design and maintain GitHub Actions workflows for build, test, and deployment automation
• Modernize legacy systems and refactor existing applications into scalable, maintainable solutions
• Build PowerShell automation for ETL processes and operational workflows
• Develop reusable logging and monitoring libraries integrating with Splunk, Dynatrace, and Azure Log Analytics
• Modernize Managed File Transfer (MFT) processes supporting mission-critical financial operations
• Partner with enterprise infrastructure and security teams while maintaining engineering agility
• Support certificate lifecycle management, software deployments, and security patching
• Participate in L2/L3 incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvements
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and system resiliency initiatives
• Configure application authentication, SSO integrations, and access management
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to establish scalable development patterns across the organization

Required Qualifications

• 6–8 years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Strong experience designing automation frameworks, reusable libraries, or platform tooling
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (preferred), Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI
• Strong understanding of modern Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices
• Proficiency in PowerShell (preferred) or Python for developing maintainable automation solutions
• Experience modernizing or replacing legacy systems
• Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability tools including Splunk, Dynatrace, or Azure Log Analytics
• Experience participating in production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and operational improvements
• Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting multiple engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong Azure application development experience
• Experience working in Agile software development environments
• Knowledge of enterprise cloud security, governance, and compliance
• Experience with Managed File Transfer (MFT) modernization
• Experience implementing secure automation and enterprise authentication solutions
• Familiarity with ETL automation and operational scripting
