BI Developer

Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

We are looking for a hard-working and organized BI Developer to be responsible for the upkeep and development of a data lake to support business decision making, both for internal and customer use. The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer will create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge both for internal and customer use.

In this role, you should have a background in data and business analysis, database modeling, and SQL language, with subject matter expertise in logistics distribution and fulfillment ecosystems. You should be analytical, an excellent communicator, and a technical data wizard.

BI Developer Responsibilities

• Translate business needs to technical specifications
• Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)
• Maintain and support Power BI data analytics platform
• Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
• Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
• Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
• Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects and customers
• Develop and update technical documentation

BI Developer Requirements

• Proven experience as a BI Developer, 5 years minimum, preferable with Power BI
• Industry experience is required
• Background in data lake design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework; Cosmos
• Power BI experience
• 5 years’ experience on SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
