Staff Pharmacist

PharmPro is seeking a The Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacy Manager for our client in the Orlando, Florida area.

We are seeking a Pharmacist for Temporary Assignment, that can start ASAP.

The Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications to long-term care facilities.

This role provides leadership to pharmacy staff, ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, maintains quality assurance standards, and collaborates with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the LTC pharmacy, including prescription processing, dispensing, packaging, and delivery coordination.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, DEA, Board of Pharmacy, HIPAA, and accreditation standards.
• Oversee medication dispensing accuracy and implement quality assurance and medication safety initiatives.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels, manage controlled substances, and minimize medication waste.
• Develop and enforce pharmacy policies, procedures, and workflow improvements.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, facility administrators, and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related issues.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including turnaround times, dispensing accuracy, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
• Investigate and resolve medication errors, customer complaints, and operational concerns.
• Coordinate staff scheduling, training, onboarding, and continuing education.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Support implementation and optimization of pharmacy technology systems, automation, and electronic health records.
• Participate in on-call or after-hours management responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• Current pharmacist license in good standing in the applicable state.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of pharmacy management or supervisory experience, preferably in long-term care, institutional, or closed-door pharmacy.
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Experience with pharmacy management systems and automated dispensing technologies.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
