Land and Title Acquisition Manager

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Land and Title Acquisition Manager to lead and oversee strategic data and image acquisition efforts that support title plant expansion and ongoing maintenance. This role is responsible for developing acquisition strategies, managing teams and vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements, and driving operational excellence across acquisition functions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in title plant asset acquisition, experience working with County Clerk/Recorder offices, and a solid understanding of title search and examination processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the acquisition team, including hiring, training, performance management, and professional development.
- Develop and execute a national acquisition strategy that balances cost, risk, quality, and revenue opportunities.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure acquisition activities meet all state, local, and contractual requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with counties, government agencies, vendors, and data providers.
- Manage acquisition agreements and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and delivery commitments.
- Maintain a comprehensive national inventory of acquisition sources and assets.
- Develop and document acquisition roadmaps, methodologies, and process improvement initiatives.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes that may impact acquisition strategies and agreements.
- Establish quality controls, governance standards, and operational best practices.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects while allocating resources effectively.
- Anticipate future staffing, technology, and budget needs and implement scalable solutions.
- Develop and maintain reporting, analytics, documentation, and performance metrics to support decision-making.
- Communicate project status, risks, outcomes, and business impacts to stakeholders and leadership.
- Analyze operational challenges, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop methodologies and processes for project prioritization, scheduling, and resource planning.
- Collaborate with Title Plant, Imaging, Sales, Product, Technology, Marketing, and Operations teams to support strategic business initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in title plant asset (data and image) acquisition.
- 5+ years of leadership and people management experience.
- Strong experience managing multiple teams, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
- Proven expertise in operational management, workflow optimization, and process improvement.
- Strong understanding of legal documents, contractual agreements, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, delegation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Title Search experience.
- Title Examination experience.
- Experience working with County Clerk, Recorder, Register of Deeds, or similar local government offices.
- Knowledge of county recording systems and public record acquisition processes.
- Familiarity with title plant operations and maintenance.
