Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and protocols to protect data and secure technology systems for the City of San Jose.
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
Monitor and analyze network traffic, security logs, and other security-related data to detect and investigate potential threats and attacks.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the City's cybersecurity posture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks in new and existing technology systems.
Provide guidance and training to staff on cybersecurity best practices, policies, and procedures.
Respond to security incidents and coordinate with relevant departments to contain and remediate any potential damage.
Maintain and update incident response plans and procedures to ensure timely and effective response to cyber incidents.
Manage and maintain security tools and solutions, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and standards.
Communicate and report on cybersecurity threats, incidents, and risks to management and other stakeholders.
Participate in cybersecurity incident drills and exercises to test and improve the City's incident response capabilities.
Collaborate with external partners and vendors to enhance the City's cybersecurity capabilities.
Serve as a subject matter expert on cybersecurity matters and provide recommendations to senior management on security-related decisions.
Mentor and train junior cybersecurity staff to develop their skills and expertise in the field.
