We facilitate an energy savings program (not solar) for businesses, through collaboration with regional energy agencies, currently covering 9 Bay Area counties.

The program covers the costs for the business to participate in the energy savings program, therefore businesses are very inclined to participate. However, the program isn't usually known to the public/businesses, so this position's aim is to get the word out by means of door to door canvassing and/or e/tele-marketing.

If you want to canvass in person you would visit businesses, inquire with the business about 1 thing (their energy gobbling item), which in most cases you can tell the minute you walk in the door. If they fit the need, leave them a flyer. If not, move on. Simple. No sales pitch. No hassling people. We're here to inquire and inform. That's it.

If you have e/tele-marketing skills, great!

Fitting businesses will almost always turn themselves into a project for us (which is how we get paid, from the energy partner agencies).

You can do this full time or at your convenience.

Your pay: 100% commission. 10% of each project’s profit value. The average small business/small project’s value is a few thousand dollars. Naturally, the bigger the business, the higher the value, which results in more pay for you. You would be an independent contractor on 1099 with a formal contract.

• Caveat: For flyer distribution, since we can't actually know if you'll actually pass out flyers that we would pay for, you'd be required to print the flyers at your own expense. This simply protects our operating costs AND we want our partners to have "skin in the game". Fedex office currently charges approx 85 cents per color copy. Same goes for e/tele-marketing. You cover the cost for that upfront.
