The role of Sous Chef at ISL is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic culinary team supporting the health and happiness of senior residents. The Sous Chef plays a critical role in kitchen operations, working closely with the Executive Chef to oversee food preparation, maintain food safety standards, and ensure excellent meal service.

This role requires leadership, culinary expertise, and a focus on maintaining high-quality dining experiences aligned with residents’ nutritional needs and preferences.

Key responsibilities include supervising the dietary and kitchen team, assisting with controlling food costs, and managing inventory and storage with accuracy and attention to detail. The Sous Chef also helps enforce meal production policies and procedures, ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, and maintains food safety records.

The position demands a commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork, as well as flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varying hours as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years' experience as a sous chef
• Current Food Services Sanitation certificate
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
• Strong organizational skills
• Good judgment and decision making skills
• Ability to supervise a kitchen team
