Assistant Civil Engineer I/II

Onsite in San Jose CA

Under general supervision, perform a variety of civil engineering and project management assignments for ongoing projects including support of the engineering and construction management teams for the RWTP Reliability Improvements Construction Project and the PWTP Clearwell Roof Improvement Design Project.

Duties include preparing engineering analyses, engineering designs, calculations, reports, design interpretations, construction contract design clarifications, and support of the construction management team such as submittals and RFIs.

Education

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related field.

Ideal Experience

Two (2) years of professional engineering experience related to water infrastructure improvements.

Knowledge of

Principles, practices, concepts, and standards of project management as applied to the planning, design, cost estimating, construction, installation, and inspection of a wide variety of facilities and infrastructure.

Practices of researching complex issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting effective staff reports.

Principles, practices, theories, and concepts of engineering related to water infrastructure and/or water treatment processes and water quality.

Ability to pass Background, Drug Screen and if applicable Medical Screenings (i.e. Vision, Hearing, or Physical) if Required by Client.
