The role of Executive Chef at MorningStar Senior Living is a full-time, exempt position that commands not only culinary skill but also leadership, organization, and a deep understanding of nutrition and dietary regulations. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of meal production and dining services within the facility.

This includes supervising the preparation and service of high-quality meals tailored to meet the needs and preferences of senior residents, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, and managing a team of dining services employees.

A key component of this position is to maintain a sanitary and infection-free environment, comply with federal and state regulations, and collaborate with healthcare professionals such as dieticians and the Wellness Director to devise menus and care plans that promote residents' well-being.

Additionally, the Executive Chef will manage food purchasing, inventory control, and budget considerations while ensuring that dining aligns with nutritional standards and governmental requirements. Their leadership extends to hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling food service staff, facilitating ongoing training programs, and maintaining comprehensive records related to meals, dietary needs, and staffing.

The role also incorporates participation in quality assurance, infection control, and safety committees to continuously elevate service standards and regulatory compliance.

MorningStar Senior Living offers a competitive salary range for this position, from $108,000 to $112,000 annually, complemented by a $3,000 sign-on bonus distributed incrementally as milestones are met. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, highlighting a balanced workweek.

• license or certification as a dietician, ADA, diet technician, chef, or dietary manager meeting state regulatory requirements
