Software Engineer 3

Software Engineer 3 wanted by Nevada Power Company, d/b/a NV Energy in Las Vegas, NV. 40 hrs./wk. Duties include: Architect, design, code, test, document, implement & maintain more complex app. programs & interfaces. Act as senior contributor or tech. lead on projects. Provide leadership for complex projects related to development of new systems, architecture, apps. or tech. capabilities.

Perform project planning, sys. analysis, software design & coding, testing, documentation, implementation & research activities for software eng’g projects. Provide tech. support; problem determination & investigation; implementation of upgrades for developed apps. Enhance existing systems; participate in client walkthroughs & tech. design reviews. Assist in sys. development planning & monitoring.

Participate in design reviews & peer code walkthroughs. Provide client & app. support. Research to develop or modify app. programs. Work w/ vendors to review quality, adaptability, & compatibility of their products. SME & consult on IT strategy & business reqs. Collaborate w/ IT teams to identify tech. deficiencies & improvement opportunities. Guide software eng. I/II in completion of projects.

MIN. REQ.: Bach. degree, or equiv., in Mgmt Info. Sys., Comp. Sci., or related field. 5 yrs exp in job offered.

SPECIAL SKILLS: 5 yrs exp. w/ Banner App.; ProC & C; AIX/UNIX; Oracle Forms; Oracle Advanced PLSQL; Oracle Performance Tuning; Oracle Reports; Shell Scripting; Production Support; SDLC; Utility Billing/Summary Merge; SAP Crystal Report; & Sleep Wake Processes. 3 yrs exp. w/ PVCS; Meter Inventory; Payment Apps.; & XML. 1 yr exp. w/ Banner Data Purge.
