Knowledge Management Research Analyst

Join the dynamic Knowledge Management & Innovation Department as a Knowledge Management Research Analyst, where you will play a crucial role in conducting in-depth legal and non-legal research to fulfill various firm-wide inquiries from attorneys, administration, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee workflow and efficiently manage research requests from the department.
• Execute comprehensive legal and business research utilizing diverse online and print resources, including the effective use of AI tools.
• Perform complex legal research, including precedent document searches, expert witness investigations, legislative history review, and judicial research.
• Develop and maintain custom alerts to track legal developments, litigation cases, and dockets.
• Communicate research findings clearly and promptly to stakeholders, ensuring understanding and actionable insights.
• Provide general support and assistance for KM research tools and platforms, such as Westlaw Precision, Practical Law, and others.

Additional Opportunities

• Contribute to special projects, including collection development, as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. A Master’s in Library & Information Science or a Juris Doctor is a plus.
• Experience: A minimum of three years of legal and business research experience in legal, corporate, or professional services settings. Familiarity with AI tools is a plus.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Extensive and advanced understanding of legal and business research methodologies. Proficient in using online resources and AI capabilities within research tools, including Westlaw Precision/Practical Law, Bloomberg Law, PACER, and other web-based services. Strong ability to synthesize information for effective decision-making. Exceptional written communication skills with a focus on clarity and precision. Excellent multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. Demonstrated patience and diplomacy in client interactions while maintaining a service-oriented approach under pressure. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

• This role is based in a standard office setting, where routine tasks involve standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
• Physical Requirements: This position requires sedentary work, consisting primarily of sitting, with occasional walking and standing necessary to carry out job responsibilities. Ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds is required.

Compensation & Benefits: The compensation for this role varies based on experience, education, location, and other related factors. Reasonable salary estimates for this position range from $31.25 - $36.10/hr in certain locations, while others might offer from $36.10 - $43.30/hr.
