Senior Director, Corporate Accounting

As the Senior Director, Corporate Accounting, you will be responsible for the general oversight of the Accounting functions of the Company.

Specific focus and attention will be on the Company’s accounting and control environment related to the General Ledger, Inventory/Cost Accounting, Leases, Revenue, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions as well as the tactical execution of these team’s monthly, quarterly and year-end close responsibilities.

The position will report to and work directly with the Vice President of Corporate and Operational Accounting to develop and implement policies and procedures, train the Accounting team and execute on various accounting projects and initiatives.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of consolidated financial information. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader who is solutions-driven with experience leading accounting departments within a large public company environment.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely completion across the accounting team.
• Oversee the general ledger, revenue, inventory, fixed assets, payroll, and potentially accounts payable.
• Drive continuous improvements to close processes and accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Support departmental goals, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate accounting and operational risks.
• Oversee consolidated financial reporting, intercompany eliminations, and U.S. GAAP compliance.
• Evaluate and implement accounting systems and technology improvements.
• Enhance processes across order-to-cash, revenue recognition, inventory, and fixed assets.
• Partner with internal and external auditors to support an efficient audit process.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Legal.
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and SOX requirements.
• Support acquisition accounting and integration of newly acquired businesses.
• Maintain effective internal controls, reconciliations, regulatory filings, and financial reporting.
• Lead accounting projects that support business growth and operational initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Active CPA license is required.
• Expert understanding of U.S. GAAP and maintaining a strong internal control SOX environment; Solid understanding of SEC external financial reporting.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a public company or Big 4 accounting firm.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Highly driven and self-motivated, with strong leadership, presentation, and comm skills.
• Experience coordinating with external auditors.
• Ability to coordinate projects from inception to completion, incorporating feedback from multiple sources and stakeholders.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize competing projects, and manage requests/assignments in a timely manner.
