Pay: $130,000-$145,000 + 15% annual bonus + full time benefits (401k w/ match, PTO, Healthcare, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, etc.)

Job Description

A Power Plant Electrical Engineer designs, maintains, and optimizes high-voltage generation and distribution systems, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation. They troubleshoot complex equipment—such as generators, transformers, and relay protection systems—while collaborating with technicians for repairs and new construction commissioning.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop electrical schematics, relay settings, and layout diagrams for medium- and low-voltage switchgear, motor control centers, and generation equipment.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on failed equipment, oversee maintenance activities, and ensure reliability.
• Lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical systems and components, ensuring adherence to safety protocols (e.g., OSHA, IEEE).
• Perform power system modeling, load flow studies, short-circuit analyses, and protective device coordination.
• Supervise contractors, review technical submittals, manage project budgets, and schedule work in facilities such as Combined Cycle plants.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years in power generation or heavy industrial environments.
