Children's Mercy has Staff Nurse openings in our surgery clinics. The following specialty clinics have a full time RN opening:
Children’s Mercy is verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level 1 Children’s Surgery Center. This verification means Children's Mercy meets the highest standards for safety and outcomes determined by the American College of Surgeons. Our surgical care is designed to manage routine to highly complex illnesses.
We also have experts in every pediatric specialty ready to go at all times to provide comprehensive care for kids.
Registered Nurses in the Surgery Clinics provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require hospital care. Registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients.
Registered staff nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs. Registered nurses coordinate patient care with non-clinical personnel as necessary.
Surgery clinic staff nurse job responsibilities include clinic patient management in collaboration with the provider and care team, collection and acquisition of pertinent clinical records including labs/pathology, operative reports, and radiology reports/imaging phone triage. Surgery clinic staff nurses will provide patient care coordination to ensure high quality care delivery.
Clinic nursing staff will participate in performance improvement initiatives for the department and provide clinical nursing support as needed to any services reporting up through the Surgery Clinics. Surgery Clinic staff are responsible for understanding the surgery scheduling process and assisting as needed.

New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination.

Pay: $31.00 - $48.05 per hour
