Role Description The Associate Attorney will work full time on-site at the Lunceford Law Firm office in Lees Summit, MO. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting legal research, and providing clear, well-reasoned advice to clients. The role involves managing case files, preparing for hearings, and supporting litigation or settlement efforts as needed.

The Associate Attorney will participate in client meetings, assist with negotiations, and collaborate with senior attorneys to develop strategies that align with client goals and applicable laws. The position requires consistent attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to handle multiple matters in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of Law and ability to interpret and apply statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Experience or strong interest in Labor and Employment Law, including workplace policies and dispute resolution.
• Skills in providing clear, practical Legal Advice and communicating complex issues in understandable terms.
• Proficiency in legal Research, including use of online databases and preparation of memoranda.
• Effective Negotiation skills, with the ability to advocate for client interests while maintaining professionalism.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law, or eligibility for admission, in Missouri.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting pleadings, correspondence, and agreements.
• High level of integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to client service and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing deadlines and prioritizing multiple matters.
• Prior law firm or clerkship experience is preferred but not required.
