Project Safety Manager

Role Description The Project Safety Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kansas City, KS. This position is responsible for overseeing safety programs on active projects, conducting daily site walks, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

The role includes delivering safety training, leading toolbox talks, and coaching project teams on safe work practices and safety culture. The Project Safety Manager will investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining safety documentation, collaborating with project leadership and clients, and supporting continuous improvement of safety performance across all phases of project execution.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Occupational Health and Industrial Safety, with the ability to apply best practices in field environments.
• Experience delivering Safety Training and fostering a proactive safety culture on project sites.
• Knowledge of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) principles, regulations, and standards relevant to construction and industrial operations.
• Proficiency in Accident Investigation, incident reporting, and root cause analysis to drive effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, CSP, ASP, CHST) or equivalent experience in safety management.
• Ability to interpret safety regulations, develop site-specific safety plans, and communicate requirements clearly to diverse teams.
• Strong observational, analytical, and documentation skills, with attention to detail in field inspections and reporting.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with project managers, supervisors, and client representatives.
• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field is preferred.
• Willingness to work on-site daily in Kansas City, KS and adapt to changing project conditions.
