Estimator/Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

K&E Flatwork is expanding its capabilities in the new commercial concrete construction industry and is looking for a qualified person to continue building this division of the company.

Reporting to the commercial sales manager, the project coordinator role will be responsible for doing accurate takeoffs, estimating, contractual obligations and coordinating with the operations team to complete a successful and profitable project.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creating and completing detailed takeoffs
• Reviewing and identifying key points in notes and plans that affect our scope of work
• Ownership of your takeoffs and the accuracy of them is crucial to the sales team to be able to negotiate profitable incoming work.
• Preparing estimates for projects to be reviewed with the sales manager prior to being sent in for bid.
• Working with the commercial sales manager to acquire reasonable and sufficient workloads for the operations side to be successful.
• Reviewing, redlining and approving any contract requirements.
• Obtain, submit and manage all product submittals required for a specific project and coordinate with the operations team during the course of the job.
• Work with the operations team to ensure all services are according to contract specifications, budgets and schedule with the highest standard of quality.
• Reviewing schedule, critical path/project activities and start dates with the operations team.
• Preparing, processing and approving any change order directives that a project my produce.
• Establish weekly and monthly billing of existing workloads and coordinate all billable information with the controller.
• Assist with the commercial sales manager in account management duties reflecting Accounts receivables on 30,60,90+ day terms.
• Communicate with commercial sales manager on potential future projects.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Should be capable of occasionally working from home.
• Mandatory to show up and participate in any preconstruction or on-site meetings that are pertinent to your project.
• Experience with Excel and Bluebeam (or other professional estimating software).
• A high comfort level with computers and software, the knowledge and willingness to change and grow with technology is a must.
• Proven success in timely and accurate submission of takeoffs to the sales manager for the vetting of qualified projects.
• Demonstrate a high level of skill at building relationships and strategic partnerships both internally and externally.
