Graphic Designer (Part-Time) - Arts and Sciences, Comparative Literature and Tho

Scheduled Hours:15 hours per week

Position Summary

Assists with the design, development, and creation of content for the department/school, supporting a variety of print, graphic, and digital deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Supports the development and publication of work through design of print, graphic, or digital deliverables.
• Designs and creates computer-based, web-based, or multimedia-based layouts, graphics, animation, and content.
• Uses graphic design software and tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, and equivalents) to compose original images for branding, marketing collateral, training material, and more.
• Contributes to brainstorming and development of design content and collateral.
• Applies design principles, industry best practices, and current trends, including emerging technologies in new media.
• Prepares illustrations, rough sketches, or mockups and discusses them with the team leader before proceeding to final production.
• Solicits and analyzes feedback to improve design effectiveness.
• Supports departmental staff in using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and/ or experience that substitutes for the minimum education.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in graphic design or a related field.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong ability to follow design principles and produce clear, effective visual communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Studio, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Apple Mac OS, and related design tools.
• Knowledge of brand identity, fine arts, guest service, and professional etiquette.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
