About The Indiana Office Of Technology (IOT)
The Indiana Office of Technology provides cost-effective, secure, consistent, reliable enterprise-technology services to our partner agencies so that they can better serve our mutual customer, the Hoosier taxpayer. IOT will also act as the technology and solution enabler for the State, helping its partner agencies achieve business objectives and innovation.
The DevOps Engineer delivers enterprise‑grade DevOps engineering capabilities supporting GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC), AWS Transform, AI Foundry, and other shared platform services. You will design, implement, and govern statewide developer platforms, ensuring secure, compliant, reproducible, and scalable DevOps workflows for all agencies.
You support platform provisioning, Copilot governance, audit configuration, and compliance monitoring. You work cross‑functionally with security, enterprise architecture, vendor partners, CloudOps, and agency development teams to align platform practices with State of Indiana cybersecurity standards, NIST requirements, and modern cloud‑native engineering approaches.
As a DevOps engineer, you build and maintain shared CI/CD pipeline patterns, reusable workflow templates, and automation standards, ensuring agencies can onboard onto modern development tooling safely and consistently.
You will integrate platform monitoring into IOT enterprise systems, support incident response for platform‑level issues, and help agencies adopt best‑practice branching strategies, infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC), automated testing, and secure deployment automation.
This blended role drives statewide digital modernization by enabling secure, standardized, and AI‑enhanced software delivery practices across Indiana’s public sector.
This is an onsite position at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Salary
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $70,122.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.
Responsibilities Include

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours that may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
