Assistant Vice President, iOS Software Development Engineer III

Role Summary/Purpose

As a key member of Synchrony's Mobile App Engineering team, you will oversee the iOS development and release processes, ensuring operational excellence and delivering top-notch software. Your ability to anticipate issues and provide production support makes you an essential part of our mission.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead a development team through all phases of the Agile development lifecycle.
• Provide technical insights on features identified by business product owners.
• Mentor iOS developers and conduct expert reviews of code.
• Assist with the migration to new technologies and implement cutting-edge solutions.
• Foster collaboration among software developers, UX designers, product managers, and architects to create outstanding applications.
• Contribute to maintaining architecture, security, and technology standards.
• Help define and uphold the architectural strategy and roadmap for future technologies.
• Engage in Agile practices including sprint planning, daily standups, and reviews.
• Ensure the highest quality of application code through development and QA.
• Provide insights for enhancing developer workflows with AI.
• Offer on-call support as needed and address production defects effectively.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to develop or integrate software.
• Take on special projects or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of software engineering experience or 6 years of experience in software engineering without a degree.
• Experience with mobile application development on iOS platforms using object-oriented design and development patterns.

Desired Characteristics

• Comprehensive understanding of system-level products.
• Experience with library and framework distribution.
• Familiarity with continuous development and integration environments.
• Skilled in writing unit and integration tests.
• Knowledge of advanced SwiftUI principles.
• Experience with JSON, REST, and XML-based web services.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical peers.
• A desire to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, ideally with prior experience in financial applications.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Skills in writing scripts and automating processes.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.

Grade/Level: 10

The salary range for this position is 100,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD annually, with eligibility for an annual bonus based on performance. Actual compensation will be determined by experience and qualifications.

Synchrony offers flexibility with options to work from home or in our offices. Regular attendance at in-person team meetings and events is required.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be willing to undergo a drug test and background investigation.
• Must meet the requirements of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
