The Graphic Design Extern will work for the Creative Services team, who is responsible for ideation and bringing to life creative concepts, refining of concepts/artwork and problem solving for a variety of teams within the bank, including but not limited to digital product, customer experience (CX,) strategy, marketing, and others.

This team leverages various partnerships and cross-functional skill sets to allow Fifth Third Bank to get the job done for our customers.

The Graphic Design Extern will work with other Designers, Copywriters, Senior Designers, Art Directors, Creative Director, mentors, and/or members of the design/marketing leadership team.

This is an 11-week summer program crafted for rising sophomores and juniors, majoring in Graphic Design, Human Centered Design or a related field. Externs will be matched to a 11-week project based on their skills combined with the Marketing business need. The project will have a drive toward customer experience initiatives and customer centricity.

What will you do?

• Present design solutions to simple/routine problems.
• Design for small project or to phase(s) of larger project.
• Leverage design best practices, processes, and strategies.
• Gain hands-on experience by designing creative pieces, being involved in creative campaigns and presenting design solutions to creative problems.
• Learn how to bring together both business and creative by interfacing with multiple internal stakeholders, as outlined above, to facilitate and advocate for user experience.
• Produce a project/deliverable for the Creative Services team and its stakeholders by way of a final presentation that will require demonstration of abilities in graphic design. This will include a design critique, to explore findings, iterations, and solutions.

Location: Cincinnati, OH.

This Design Internship will be hosted in person, at Fifth Third Bank's headquarters located in Cincinnati, OH.

Requirements

• Undergraduate rising sophomore or rising junior student completing a bachelor's degree majoring in Graphic Design, Human Centered Design or a related field with relevant coursework.
• 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA.
• Work experience, internship or co-op experience helpful, but not necessary.
• Provide a portfolio or work samples to showcase UX or visual design projects.
• Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as Sketch and Figma (or other similar tools).
• The right candidate is curious, collaborative.
• Results oriented through initiative, ownership, and accountability.
• This externship will be in person, you are required to relocate to the Cincinnati area if you are not local to this area.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
