Senior Software Developer (Java)

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role you will design, build and deliver scalable Java applications that meet diverse client needs. You'll lead by example in applying engineering best practices, contribute to Agile ceremonies and ensure software quality through testing and code reviews.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated solutions that deliver measurable business value while supporting and coaching junior developers to enhance capability across the team.

Design, develop and maintain enterprise-level Java applications using Spring Boot

Collaborate with clients and teams to define and deliver robust scalable solutions

Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle

Lead Agile ceremonies and support continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure code quality and maintainability through reviews and testing

Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of collaboration and learning

Engage with stakeholders to align technical outcomes with business goals

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

You should have a strong background in Java development with experience in designing and delivering enterprise-grade applications. You'll combine solid technical capability with collaboration and communication skills to drive successful client outcomes.

Essential qualifications

Proven experience in Java development (Java 8 or higher)

Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and RESTful API development

Experience with Agile methodologies using Jira, Confluence and Git

Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and testing

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience mentoring or leading technical teams

Desirable qualifications

Experience in IT consulting or client-facing roles

Knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP

Familiarity with containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines

Exposure to microservices architecture and API integration
