Role Description The Infusion Nurse is a part time on-site role based in the Greater Montreal Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for administering intravenous and other specialty medication infusions in accordance with clinical protocols and safety standards.
Day-to-day activities include assessing patients prior to treatment, monitoring vital signs and infusion progress, managing adverse reactions, and documenting all nursing interventions accurately in patient records. The Infusion Nurse will collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and ensure continuity of treatment.
Additional responsibilities include patient and caregiver education on therapy, equipment, and self-care, maintaining infusion supplies and clinic cleanliness, and adhering to all regulatory, infection control, and quality assurance requirements.
Clinical nursing expertise in areas such as Nursing and Direct Patient Care, with the ability to provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-informed care.
Experience in Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, including assessment, monitoring, and management of patients with complex or acute conditions.
Skills in Home Infusion and infusion therapy practices, including venous access, medication administration, and infusion equipment management.
Active nursing license/registration in good standing in the applicable provincial jurisdiction.
Experience in infusion clinics, hospital, or community care settings, preferably with specialty or biologic therapies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Competence in clinical documentation, basic computer skills, and use of electronic medical records.
Commitment to patient safety, infection prevention, and continuous professional development.
BLS/CPR certification and other relevant clinical certifications considered an asset.
Ability to work on-site in the Greater Montreal Metropolitan Area and adapt to diverse patient needs and schedules.
