Lead Electrical Engineer

Rate: $80/hr – $85/hr

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a passion for transportation, rail systems, and technical leadership?

We are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to support rolling stock modernization, maintenance, and engineering projects while providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams.

What You'll Do

• Lead electrical engineering projects related to rolling stock and fleet modernization.
• Provide technical expertise and support to maintenance centers and stakeholders across the organization.
• Review and approve electrical drawings, technical specifications, maintenance procedures, and engineering documentation.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of external consultants, contractors, and engineering firms.
• Mentor and guide a team of electrical specialists, providing leadership, coaching, and technical oversight.
• Support project planning, scope development, design reviews, and implementation activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot equipment failures, and develop long-term corrective actions.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet safety, reliability, quality, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Manager on resource planning, workload management, and team development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Member in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• 5–10 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• Experience leading teams within a matrix organization.
• Strong experience with electrical system design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability engineering.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Bilingual in English and French.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the railway, transportation, manufacturing, or heavy equipment industries.
• Experience with rolling stock electrical systems and related regulations.
• Experience with root cause analysis, reliability engineering, and maintenance programs.
