land use planner

Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Urban area. Tasks: Compile and analyze data on factors affecting land use. Design different land concepts. Recommend plans for zoning, subdivisions, transportation, public utilities, community facilities, parks, agricultural and other land uses. Supervise and co-ordinate work of urban planning technicians and technologists. Prepare plans for environmental protection.

Review and evaluate proposals for land use and development plans and prepare recommendations. Conduct research. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations. Supervision: Working groups. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License. Provincial license or registration. Membership in a provincial or territorial planning institute.
