We're committed to enabling innovation through the services we deliver while actively seeking opportunities that drive success for our clients' businesses.
As an Area Cleaning Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the effective operations of the cleaning service through planning, quality control, and management of site cleaners. Reporting to the Property Manager, you'll set high standards for cleaning and ensure those standards are consistently met.
Your focus will be on maintaining and achieving customer standards while making the most economical use of materials, equipment, and manpower.
You'll demonstrate strong, competent leadership for your team members, guiding them toward reaching their full potential and meeting their objectives in support of our corporate goals. This includes full involvement with recruiting talent, providing mentoring, coaching and guidance to all team members, and making objective recommendations for compensation adjustments.
You'll manage all aspects of performance, make decisions regarding employment, training, discipline, and termination of staff under your jurisdiction, and conduct evaluation interviews for cleaning personnel.
You'll manage and oversee site cleaners, providing direction and support to ensure they're delivering cleaning services to the facility per the client's MSA SOW and BGIS processes and procedures. Getting fully familiar with the janitorial SOW as stated in the client's MSA is essential.
You'll inspect the cleaners' work and meet with the team to review and discuss how to improve, ensuring that cleaners have the resources required to deliver the contracted level of janitorial services. Creating and maintaining a clean, safe and pleasant environment is paramount.
Regular consultation with the BGIS Property Manager and FMZ team regarding building condition will be part of your routine. You'll control activities of all cleaners by selecting, supervising, training, directing and developing personnel to achieve competence within cleaning responsibilities.
Setting priorities in scheduling of project duties for cleaning staff, conducting monthly staff and training meetings, and coordinating with cleaners on special project tasks, work orders and the effectiveness of housekeeping to maintain quality services are core activities.
Effective communication with the Property Manager is critical. You'll consult with them for specific projects and work orders, follow up on special project work, and liaise on a regular basis. You're also responsible for informing your Property Manager or designate in the event of your absence.
You'll manage and maintain inventory of operating equipment, cleaning supplies and consumables while carrying out quality assurance inspections on a regular basis.
You'll make independent decisions and consult with the Property Manager as necessary in day-to-day operations of BGIS cleaners, keeping documentation as required by client MSA and BGIS standards. Analyzing innovative trends in the cleaning industry with respect to equipment, materials and methods and recommending changes to the Regional Operations Manager demonstrates your commitment to continuous improvement.
You'll complete payroll forms, TCP reports, variance records, cost control reports and supplies cost reports as part of your administrative responsibilities.
You'll need 1-3 years or more of cleaning supervisory experience. Experience managing, communicating and motivating workforce teams is essential, along with good communication skills and the ability to organize and manage work programs. A high school diploma is required.
Your flexibility and willingness to work overtime, nights and weekends on a rotation basis are important, as is your willingness to learn and acquire new skills. You should excel at problem solving through applying established procedures.
No licenses or professional accreditations are required for this position.
