Job Description

This role supports a construction project in Rocky View County, focusing on commercial and light industrial electrical work. You will work in an active construction environment, performing installations, troubleshooting, and general electrical construction tasks on a project-based schedule with premium shift opportunities.

This is not an entry-level position and requires strong commercial or industrial electrical experience and confidence working on active sites.

Looking to hire a high volume of tradespeople throughout the summer for a long term project.

Responsibilities

• Perform commercial and light industrial electrical installations, including wiring, equipment connections, distribution, lighting, and general electrical construction tasks.
• Install, run, and bend conduit and pipe to support new construction and commercial construction projects.
• Pull cables and wires safely and efficiently, ensuring proper routing, labeling, and termination according to project specifications and electrical codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and site instructions to complete electrical installations accurately and on schedule.
• Support construction activities, including low voltage and other related electrical systems as required.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment, identify issues, and implement effective solutions to maintain productivity and safety.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades for safety coordination, task planning, and site instructions.
• Participate in premium shift work, including evenings, weekends, and overtime, as required by project demands.
• Ensure reliable attendance and transportation to the work site in Calgary’s northeast and Rocky View County.

Essential Skills

• Strong commercial or industrial electrical experience in active construction or industrial-style environments.
• Journeyperson Electrician, Apprentices (all levels) considered.
• Demonstrated ability to install, run, and bend conduit and pipe for new and commercial construction projects.
• Proficiency in electrical wiring, equipment connections, cable pulling, distribution systems, and lighting installations.
• Experience with low voltage systems and running conduit in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and site instructions accurately.
• Capability to work efficiently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work site.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Valid electrical apprenticeship registration or Journeyperson certification preferred.
• Experience on high-profile, large commercial or industrial projects
• Experience in new construction and commercial construction environments.
• Familiarity with cable management practices and construction site organization.

Work Environment

The role is based on a construction project located in Rocky View County. You will work in an active commercial and light industrial construction environment that involves shift-based schedules, including premium shift work, weekend and evening shifts, and regular overtime.

The site emphasizes strict safety practices and procedures, including the use of certifications such as CSTS, WHMIS, Fall Protection, and Elevated Work Platform where applicable. You will work with typical electrical construction tools and equipment, including conduit benders, cable pulling tools, and aerial work platforms.

The environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with a focus on safe, efficient, and high-quality installations in a large, complex facility.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $50.40/hr.
