We are seeking an innovative and skilled Senior Cloud Developer to join our Retail Payments Supervision team!
We are a collaborative and diverse team within ITS with the mission to carry out the roadmap of an effective regulatory IT platform to meet the requirements of the Bank of Canada’s role in supervising payment service providers (PSPs). We are also beginning work on two new mandates: Stable Coin and Consumer-driven Banking.
As a Senior Cloud Developer, you will design, build, deploy, and support modern cloud-native applications and platforms in Microsoft Azure. You will work closely with architects, product owners, developers, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that accelerate digital transformation.
What you need to succeed
You are an experienced cloud developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems while building modern, scalable, and secure solutions. You are passionate about software craftsmanship, automation, and continuous improvement, and you influence others by promoting engineering best practices.
You have the ability to analyze complex business and technical requirements, evaluate alternative solutions, and deliver high-quality software that meets business objectives.
Your strong communication and collaboration skills enable you to work effectively with product owners, architects, operations teams, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Your education and experience
Your combination of education and/or equivalent professional experience, technical expertise, and demonstrated accomplishments reflects the competencies required for this role.
You have a strong foundation in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline—or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience—supported by extensive experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise software solutions. You have also demonstrated expertise in delivering cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure while applying modern software engineering practices.
In addition, your commitment to continuous learning, technical leadership, mentoring others, and delivering high-quality software aligns well with the expectations of this position.

We value candidates who demonstrate adaptability, curiosity, and a willingness to learn new technologies, including AI and digital tools. Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve their second language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

Hybrid Work Model
The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues.
You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
