Why Work at The Ottawa Cancer Foundation
The best operations leaders aren't focused on operations. They're focused on outcomes.
They know that strong organizations don't happen by accident. They're built through smart decisions, trusted partnerships, sound judgment, and relentless attention to what matters most.
At The Ottawa Cancer Foundation, we're looking for a Director of Operations who can help ensure our organization is as strong, resilient, and effective as the community we serve deserves.
This role touches everything from facilities and infrastructure to risk management, vendor partnerships, governance, and operational strategy.
But at its core, it's about creating the conditions that allow our team to do their best work and ensuring people impacted by cancer can count on us when they need us most.
If you're a leader who loves building things that last, we'd love to hear from you.
At The Ottawa Cancer Foundation, cancer support starts with community. We are here for patients and their caregivers, family members, and friends through every stage of the cancer experience, helping them navigate the day-to-day realities of cancer through connection, guidance, and compassionate, practical care tailored to each person.
We believe that no one should have to face cancer alone, and we are committed to building a community of care that surrounds people throughout their journey and beyond.
The Director, Operations reports directly to the President and CEO. The Director provides strategic leadership and oversight of the Foundation's operational functions, ensuring the organization has the systems, infrastructure, processes, and partnerships required to support the delivery of exceptional supportive cancer care and achieve the organization's strategic priorities.
The Director is responsible for leading facilities and infrastructure, vendor stewardship, administrative operations, governance support, enterprise risk management, organizational compliance, and continuous operational improvement.
Working collaboratively with internal leaders, external partners, and service providers, the Director drives operational excellence, strengthens organizational effectiveness, and ensures the Foundation's resources are managed responsibly and efficiently.
The Director supports sound organizational governance by contributing operational expertise to strategic planning and Board reporting, while working collaboratively with the Foundation's finance team to ensure operational decisions are aligned with financial objectives and organizational priorities.
