• Are you a graduate from an accredited electrical engineering program with your P.Eng. designation?
• Do you have a strong understanding of instrumentation selection, installation, and calibration in industrial environments?
• Do you have hands-on experience with:
• Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Schneider and/or Siemens automation platforms
• SCADA/HMI systems (FactoryTalk, iFix, Ignition, etc.)
• Industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus)

Your Role as Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

• Prepare and review engineering deliverables for industrial facilities, including:
• PLC/HMI control system architectures
• I/O lists and control narratives
• Loop diagrams and wiring schematics
• Network architecture drawings
• Control panel drawings
• Specification and wiring design for field instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level, analyzers, etc.)
• Design of instrumentation and controls for hazardous classified areas.
• Apply and interpret safety standards such as:
• CSA Z432 / ISO 12100
• ISO 13849 / IEC 62061
• IEC 61511
• Design machine and process safety circuits, including:
• Safety PLCs and relays
• Emergency stops, interlocks, light curtains, and safety scanners
• Safety instrumented functions
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
• Provide commissioning support and troubleshooting at client sites
• Collaborate on designs with electrical, mechanical, and process teams within JLR.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., CEC, ISA, CSA)
• Support proposal development and cost estimates for engineering services
• Designing, conducting internal coordination, project management, of Industrial projects, from concept through to completion.
• Assisting with the management of workload of technicians and designers to ensure that project deadlines are met, and final deliverables align with client expectations.
• Mentoring junior engineers, engineering graduates, and technologists.
