Senior Commercial Lines Producer

Many commercial brokers carry the title of “Producer.” Far fewer consistently prospect, create opportunities, win complex accounts, and build a profitable commercial book.

We are looking for a genuine producer.

Billyard Insurance Group (Alta Vista) is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Lines Producer with a proven record of generating and closing commercial new business. This is not an account management role disguised as a sales position.

You will be supported by our dedicated Service Team, which assists with account management, policy servicing, renewals, certificates, endorsements, billing inquiries, documentation, and administrative work.

• Mid-Market Businesses exceeding $25,000 GWP

Key Responsibilities

• Build and convert a consistent commercial new-business pipeline
• Prospect through outbound activity, networking, referrals, and centres of influence
• Develop relationships with business owners, executives, CFOs, developers, property owners, and professional advisors
• Conduct risk discovery and executive-level insurance reviews
• Identify coverage gaps and recommend strategic insurance solutions
• Present, negotiate, and close complex commercial accounts
• Maintain disciplined CRM, pipeline, and follow-up activity
• Develop referral relationships with lawyers, accountants, lenders, wealth advisors, real estate professionals, and industry associations
• Cross-sell cyber, professional liability, executive risk, commercial auto, group benefits, life, and related solutions
• Remain strategically involved with key clients while the Service Team manages routine account servicing

The Producer We Are Looking For has

• A proven record of personally generating commercial new business
• Strong prospecting, networking, referral-development, and closing skills
• Experience with mid-market and complex commercial accounts
• Strong commercial coverage and risk-analysis knowledge
• Established relationships within one or more target industries
• Confidence working with sophisticated business owners and senior decision-makers
• Strong carrier and underwriter relationships
• An entrepreneurial and performance-driven mindset
• A valid RIBO licence in good standing

CIP, CIC, CAIB, CRM, FCIP, or other relevant designations are considered an asset.

This Role Is Not For Someone Who Primarily

• Services an inherited book
• Waits for house leads
• Processes renewals and policy changes
• Issues certificates and endorsements
• Handles routine service work under a producer title
• Avoids outbound prospecting and relationship development

Account management experience is valuable, but this role requires evidence that you can independently generate and close meaningful commercial business.

As the Producer’s book grows, the support structure will grow with it. Once the Producer surpasses $2 million in GWP, the brokerage plans to hire a dedicated Commercial Client Relationship Manager to support the expanding commercial portfolio.
