We are seeking a Financial Analyst (Intermediate) on behalf of our public sector client. Our Public sector client is responsible for managing budgets dedicated to modernizing critical registry services, including Land Titles and Motor Vehicles.
In this role, the Financial Analyst will provide comprehensive support across financial operations, contract management, project auditing, and cost analysis. You will ensure financial accuracy, effective procurement, smooth contract management, and strict adherence to governance standards.
By preparing precise forecasts, tracking transactions, and developing analytical cost models, your work will directly drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence across major public service initiatives.

Prepare monthly financial forecasts integrating actual results, spending trends, and projected expenditures.
Validate, process, and track vendor invoices to ensure contract compliance and billing accuracy.
Submit monthly accrual entries for precise period-end financial reporting.
Produce monthly budget updates and contract spend reports, highlighting variances and expenditure trends.
Support governance reporting by delivering accurate, timely financial and operational data.
Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring alignment with procurement policies and proper financial coding.
Prepare and maintain Service Entry Sheets (SES) in 1GX (SAP Ariba) to verify and document received goods and services.
Maintain and update process documentation for financial and contracting workflows.
Manage project records according to corporate record retention standards.
Respond to internal and external audit inquiries, information requests, and documentation reviews.
Build cost models and perform financial analyses to assist with budgeting and planning.
Evaluate historical and forecasted data to identify financial risks, trends, and process improvement opportunities.
Deliver clear, data-driven insights and financial recommendations to branch leadership.
Financial Acumen & Analysis: Strong foundation in financial reporting, budget variance tracking, accruals, and cost modeling.
Analytical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Ability to evaluate complex datasets, identify trends, and recommend actionable solutions.
Detail-Oriented: Exceptional precision when validating invoices, entering financial codes, and preparing governance reports.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams, vendors, and audit stakeholders.
Equipment: Must provide your own computer running a modern version of Windows (preferred) or macOS compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) software.
Software Experience: Familiarity with SAP/SAP Ariba (1GX) or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is highly preferred.
Initiative: Self-starter who takes ownership of tasks and works independently in a remote setting.
Background Check: Must successfully pass a standard criminal record check prior to starting the engagement.
Mandatory Training: Willingness to complete required provincial training (including security awareness) upon hire.
