Graphic Design Intern

Connected Creative is a full-service marketing agency based in Edmonton, Alberta, supporting clients across a wide range of industries through social media, branding, graphic design, digital advertising, websites, content creation, email marketing, events, and strategy. We work closely with businesses to help them show up professionally, creatively, and consistently across every touchpoint.

We are looking for a Graphic Design Intern for 20 hours per week at $20 per hour to join our team in a hybrid role based in Edmonton. This is a great opportunity for a student or recent graduate who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced agency environment while building their portfolio with real client work.

About the Role

As a Graphic Design Intern, your main responsibility will be designing graphics for social media, including feed posts, carousel posts, stories, reels covers, and campaign assets for a variety of clients. You will also support other design projects as needed, including presentations, digital ads, email graphics, website visuals, print materials, and branded client collateral.

This role is ideal for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and excited to contribute to a collaborative agency environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include

• Designing social media graphics, carousel posts, stories, reels covers, and campaign assets
• Supporting the creation of branded materials for clients
• Assisting with presentation decks, digital ads, email graphics, and website visuals
• Creating print materials such as posters, signage, brochures, and event collateral
• Resizing and adapting creative assets for different platforms and formats
• Following brand guidelines to ensure consistency across client work
• Supporting internal Connected Creative marketing materials as needed
• Collaborating with the team on creative concepts and design direction
• Making revisions based on feedback from the team or clients
• Keeping design files organized and prepared for final use

Qualifications

To be considered, applicants must

• Be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a graphic design program
• Have a portfolio of design work to share, which can include school projects
• Reside in Edmonton, as this is a hybrid position
• Be comfortable working both remotely and in person
• Have a strong eye for layout, typography, colour, and brand consistency
• Be familiar with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
• Be organized, reliable, and open to feedback
• Have an interest in marketing, branding, and social media design

Because this role is connected to a grant application, applicants must also meet the Alberta Youth Employment Incentive hiring requirements. Eligible candidates must be Alberta residents, Canadian citizens or permanent residents, and between 15 and 24 years old at the start of employment.
