About the Role

We are looking for a Remote NOC Security Engineer (L2) to provide second-line support for enterprise security devices. This role focuses on security infrastructure maintenance, remote troubleshooting, and incident resolution—not SOC threat monitoring. You will ensure the stability, health, and availability of firewalls, VPN gateways, and other security appliances while meeting strict SLA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain enterprise security devices (firewalls, VPN appliances, security gateways) using NMS and vendor management platforms.
• Perform L2 troubleshooting for device health issues, policy errors, configuration problems, HA failovers, and connectivity incidents.
• Support maintenance of security platforms such as:
• Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower/ASA or equivalent.
• Perform configuration updates, policy adjustments, failover testing, firmware reviews, and pre/post change checks.
• Review hardware/software alerts, identify root causes, and escalate to L3/vendor TAC when required.
• Execute routine NOC tasks: device backups, log/CPU/memory checks, HA status validation, certificate expiry monitoring.
• Maintain accurate documentation: device inventory, change records, SOPs, runbooks.
• Follow ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
• Work in a 24x7 shift rotation, including nights/weekends/public holidays.

Requirements

• Degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience supporting enterprise firewalls or security appliances.
• Experience with at least one major security vendor: Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Checkpoint, Juniper, Sophos, etc.
• Good understanding of:
• Firewall policies, NAT, ACLs
• IPsec/SSL VPN
• HA/cluster configurations
• Certificates and PKI fundamentals
• Strong troubleshooting ability (packet capture, log analysis, rule debugging).
• Familiarity with NOC tools for monitoring and remote diagnostics.
• Good English communication skills and ability to handle multiple incidents quickly and accurately.

• Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE
• Cisco CCNA Security / CCNP Security
• ITIL Foundation (added advantage)
