Job Summary

The Regulatory Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in safeguarding Ryt Bank’s regulatory integrity by providing independent oversight, trusted advisory, and forward‑looking regulatory insights. This role partners closely with Management, the Board, business teams, and regulators to ensure the Bank operates in line with regulatory expectations—while enabling responsible innovation and sustainable growth.

Your Role at Ryt Bank

Regulatory Oversight & Advisory

• Provide meaningful, independent, and objective oversight to Management and the Board of Directors, ensuring reasonable assurance on the Bank’s regulatory compliance posture.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on the interpretation and applicability of regulatory requirements, recommending appropriate approaches and actions to meet regulatory expectations.
• Collaborate with Business Units and control functions—including Risk and Legal—to provide guidance on regulatory matters and to support new products, services, and initiatives.
• Establish, maintain, and periodically review Compliance policies and procedures to ensure alignment with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Review and validate policies and procedures belonging to other business units to ensure regulatory consistency and control alignment.

Regulatory Change Management & Compliance Risk

• Monitor regulatory developments to identify new, evolving, or emerging compliance risks.
• Maintain comprehensive and up‑to‑date regulatory trackers covering policy documents, guidelines, supervisory communications, and regulatory correspondences.
• Proactively manage and mitigate compliance risks through structured gap assessments and execution of periodic compliance reviews, validations, and testing.

Compliance Reporting

• Prepare and present periodic compliance reports to Management Committees and the Board of Directors.
• Highlight key compliance matters, regulatory expectations, and significant developments—including timely progress updates and remediation status.
• Deliver insightful trend analyses and commentary to support informed decision‑making.
• Provide forward‑looking regulatory anticipation on new, upcoming, or revised regulations that may impact Ryt Bank’s operations.

Compliance Culture & Conduct

• Foster a strong compliance culture and conduct mindset across the organisation.
• Design and deliver targeted compliance training and awareness programmes through classroom sessions, online modules, or curated stakeholder‑specific learning engagements.

Regulatory Engagement

• Maintain open, transparent, and constructive relationships with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and other relevant regulatory authorities.
• Coordinate and manage regulatory engagements, ensuring all requests and submissions are handled accurately, comprehensively, and within required timelines—with input from relevant internal teams.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree with 7 to 12 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services. Compliance‑related professional certifications or accreditations are an added advantage.
• Strong capability in interpreting, applying, and operationalising regulatory requirements applicable to banking, with experience engaging regulatory authorities and/or prior experience in a regulatory agency.
• Ability to grasp complex regulatory issues quickly, formulate well‑considered solutions, and manage multiple regulatory workstreams concurrently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
