Mechanical Rotating Engineer
Job Purpose
Provide mechanical rotating engineering expertise and technical support to the Mechanical Rotating Lead Engineer throughout Concept Selection, Engineering Definition, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
Responsible for performing engineering calculations, analyses, equipment package engineering, technical specifications, and design reviews to ensure project deliverables are completed safely, efficiently, within budget, and in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering & Technical Execution Execute Concept Selection Studies, Engineering Definition, FEED, and Detailed Design deliverables for rotating equipment systems throughout all project phases.
- Prepare and review engineering documents including Mechanical Design Reports (MDR), engineering calculations, technical analyses, datasheets, specifications, and equipment requisitions.
- Develop and review rotating equipment package specifications for compressors, pumps, turbines, generators, fans, blowers, and associated auxiliary systems.
- Perform technical assessments, equipment sizing verification, and engineering evaluations to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Support equipment selection, technical bid evaluations, vendor clarification processes, and procurement activities.
- Design Review & Package Management Review FEED and Detailed Design deliverables produced by engineering contractors, consultants, and vendors, ensuring compliance with MISC Offshore standards and project specifications.
- Monitor rotating equipment package engineering activities and provide technical direction to vendors and subcontractors.
- Identify design gaps, technical risks, constructability concerns, and opportunities for optimization, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, model reviews, constructability reviews, and risk assessment workshops.
- Project Delivery Support project execution by ensuring engineering deliverables are completed within approved schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve interface issues and achieve integrated design solutions.
- Provide technical input for change management processes and assess the impact of engineering changes on project performance, safety, and cost.
- Documentation & Quality Management Ensure engineering documentation and records are maintained in accordance with MISC Offshore Management System requirements.
- Maintain proper document control and data management for all rotating equipment engineering deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international codes, standards, classification society requirements, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement Contribute to engineering excellence through lessons learned, technical knowledge sharing, and best practice implementation.
- Pursue continuous professional and leadership development to support MISC Offshore's strategic objectives and organizational growth.

- Proficient in rotating equipment package engineering, vendor management, and lifecycle support.
- Good understanding of applicable international codes, standards, and industry practices (API, ISO, ASME, IEC, NORSOK, Classification Society requirements, etc.). Experienced in engineering calculations, technical analyses, equipment specifications, and package management.
- Ability to identify technical risks, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective engineering solutions.
- Familiarity with multidiscipline engineering interfaces and offshore project execution methodologies.

- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting EPCC projects in a Mechanical Rotating Engineering role.
- Proven experience in rotating equipment package engineering and vendor package management is preferred.
- Experience in Concept Selection, FEED, Detailed Design, Construction, and Commissioning phases is advantageous.
- Familiarity with offshore engineering standards, classification society requirements, and project delivery frameworks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from a recognized university.
- Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Graduate Engineer or equivalent recognized professional engineering body.
- Professional Engineer (PEng/Ir.) certification and/or Practicing Certificate is preferred.
- Membership with recognized professional institutions (IEM, Engineering Council UK, IMech
- E, or equivalent) is an advantage.
