Junior Data & AI Engineer

About the role

As a Junior Data & AI Engineer on our team, you’ll help build and maintain the data infrastructure that powers our products, analytics and AI systems. You’ll work on data pipelines, cloud infrastructure and AI data workflows — including organising datasets, preparing training data and supporting machine learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Python, SQL and Dagster.
• Organise, clean and validate datasets for analytics and AI applications.
• Support AI workflows including data labelling and training preparation.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes for ingesting and transforming data.
• Monitor and improve data quality, reliability and pipeline performance.
• Work with AWS cloud services to support data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Assist with CI/CD, deployment and troubleshooting of data applications.

What We Are Looking For

Education Qualifications & Certificates

• A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering or a related field is beneficial but not essential.

Working Experience

• 1+ years of experience in data engineering or related technical roles.
• Experience building data pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Exposure to AWS cloud platforms and data workflows.
• Experience with AI/ML data preparation is a plus.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Required

• Experience with Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with Python data processing libraries such as Pandas.
• Understanding of relational databases and ETL workflows.
• Familiarity with Dagster, Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, ECS, Lambda or Redshift.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in agile, fast-paced environments.
• Be able to speak, read and type in English.

Desired

• Experience with AI/ML datasets or model training workflows.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiarity with Python backend development, RESTful APIs and frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Exposure to Docker or infrastructure tooling.
• Passion for learning and experimenting with AI technologies.
