Operations Manager - Mining

We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Mining division. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee operations across Africa, drive service excellence, strengthen client relationships, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for

• Leading the day-to-day operations of the Mining division.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and shipping managers.
• Working closely with cross-border offices, transport, brokerage and sea freight teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Driving KPI performance and ensuring customer service levels are consistently achieved.
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies across customers' supply chains.
• Supporting commercial growth by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing customer relationships.
• Negotiating rates, maintaining SOPs and ensuring operational compliance.
• Managing operational reporting, forecasting, budgets and cost control.
• Overseeing debtor invoicing, file management and query resolution.
• Leading, coaching and developing your team through regular performance reviews.
• Travelling when required to support customers and operations.

What We Are Looking For

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in operations within African imports and/or exports.
• Minimum 3 years' experience within the Mining, Minerals, Metals or Project Cargo environment.
• Strong understanding of international freight forwarding and logistics operations.
• Experience managing operational teams and driving performance.
• General knowledge of Customs procedures would be advantageous.
