Our client, a leading tertiary paediatric healthcare institution, is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Medical Specialist - Radiologist to provide specialised paediatric diagnostic and interventional imaging services.

Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Service Delivery Perform radiological evaluations across major imaging modalities, including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, and X-ray . Interpret complex paediatric imaging studies with a high degree of diagnostic accuracy.
- Participate in interventional radiology procedures , including image-guided biopsies, aspirations, and other interventions, where applicable.
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety standards and optimise imaging protocols for paediatric patients.
- Provide specialist clinical opinions and recommendations to support multidisciplinary patient management.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration & Clinical Governance Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs), tumour boards, clinical audits, and case discussions . Uphold medico-legal compliance, patient safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.
- Contribute to the development and review of paediatric imaging pathways and clinical protocols.
- Teaching, Training & Research Support the supervision and development of registrars, fellows, interns, and radiographers . Participate in research activities, audit cycles, publications, and academic initiatives.
- Contribute to the institution''s academic mission and future workforce development within paediatric subspecialties.
- Operational Support Collaborate with referring clinical departments to optimise diagnostic workflows and patient care.
- Promote efficiencies within PACS/RIS systems and improve reporting turnaround times.
- Support departmental planning and equipment utilisation initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- National Senior Certificate.
- MBChB (or equivalent medical qualification). Current HPCSA Specialist Registration in Diagnostic Radiology . FC Rad Diag (SA), MMed Radiology , or recognised international equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience or exposure to Paediatric Radiology during specialist training or in practice.
- Eligibility to work in South Africa.
- Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Advanced understanding of paediatric anatomy, pathology, and disease processes.
- Proficiency in interpreting MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, and X-ray studies.
- Sound clinical reasoning and diagnostic decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and structured reporting systems . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
