Service Technician (HVAC) (Electrician + Instrumentation)

Position Overview Reports To

Director Core Function: Provision of service and technical support for installations, systems, and equipment. Main Purpose of the Job Service Technicians function as a vital support structure for the engineering implementation of systems at a project level, as well as managing the subsequent servicing of those systems for clients.

Principal Accountabilities & Key Outputs Service Management: Efficiently manage all allocated service plans. Commissioning & Planning: Plan project commissioning, including coordinating specific electrical and control requirements alongside engineering teams and project supervisors. Scheduling: Directly plan and arrange technical service appointments with customers.

Client Relations: Liaise with customers to understand and manage their expectations. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear, professional communication with stakeholders via email, face-to-face interactions, or telephonic correspondence.

Meetings & Evaluation: Participate in weekly meetings before and during services or projects and conduct thorough post-mortems on all completed service intervals and project phases. On-Site Operations: Apply active on-site critical thinking to closely manage work quality, standards, and project timeframes. Contractor Oversight: Supervise and manage on-site contractors in tandem with the internal team.

Qualifications Essential Criteria Languages

• Fluent in English Education: Matric certificate paired with a valid Trade Certificate as an Electrician Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a service technician, with proven expertise in wiring, controls, instrumentation, and technical fault finding Professional Training: Completed training in instrumentation and controls, alongside general computer literacy Licence

• Valid Code 08 driver's licence Desirable Criteria Languages: Proficiency in Afrikaans Education: Trade Certificate specifically as an HVAC / Refrigeration Technician Experience: Specialised experience in Industrial Process and HVAC systems Professional Training: Technical diploma in instrumentation and controls Key Competencies & Professional Attributes Software Proficiency: Highly efficient in Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Proactive Mindset: Intuitive professional who effectively thinks ahead to anticipate project needs.
• Work Ethic: Highly efficient, hardworking, self-motivated, and possesses a strong willingness to learn.
• Industry Standards: Ensures all finalized jobs and operations are completed strictly in accordance with SANS and SAIRAC standards.
