Duties & Responsibilities

Our client is a respected player within the renewable energy and infrastructure sector, seeking a commercially minded Finance Associate – Financial Planning & Analysis to join their team based in Illovo. This is a fully onsite opportunity where you'll partner with key stakeholders, build sophisticated financial models, evaluate investment opportunities, and provide strategic insights that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed financial models for infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning activities.
• Perform investment appraisals, scenario analysis, and financial feasibility assessments.
• Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful commercial insights to stakeholders.
• Support business cases, funding initiatives, and strategic decision-making.
• Prepare management reports, presentations, and financial recommendations for senior leadership.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities while recommending practical solutions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and business objectives.

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education

• Minimum BCom in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Experience

• Proven experience within Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
• Strong financial modelling experience is essential.
• Experience within the renewable energy and infrastructure sector is highly advantageous.
• Exposure to the public sector is non-negotiable.
• Experience supporting investment decisions and strategic financial planning.

Skills

• Advanced financial modelling capability.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
