SUMMARY

Our client in the Telecommunications sector is looking for a Senior Architect: Wallet Evolution on contract duration of 6 months.

The role is responsible for driving the architecture, solution design, and strategic evolution of Wallet Platform. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical depth, architecture discipline, and a deep understanding of the evolving technology, digital commerce, and fintech landscape.

The role assesses the current and future Wallet architecture, its capabilities and designs for a scalable, secure, cost-effective, and future-fit wallet platform aligned to business strategy, customer experience ambitions, regulatory requirements, and technology roadmaps.

The role is accountable for shaping the end-to-end Wallet architecture fit to support advanced Fintech use cases, interoperability solutions, and digital transaction flows across multiple channels and use cases related to product and platform changes to its eco-system and propose technical solutions to align with required changes and business Strategy.

The role is responsible for ownership of core Wallet Architecture solution, product and platform changes , functionalities and platform evolution across all Fintech Markets. This role leads to design, standardising of the Wallet architectural and integration methodologies for Fintech solutions group wide.

POSITION INFO

Education: Minimum 4-year academic degree (Bachelor's degree) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computing, or related field Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body as required for the role, e.g. TOGAF Master's degree (Desirable) Certifications (preferred): TOGAF, Banking system certifications, PCI DSS knowledge.

TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification, SAFe Architect, Azure /AWS/GCP Architect, or Mobile App Architect certifications.

Vendor certifications (e.g., Apigee, Azure, MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway). Experience: Minimum 5-7 years' relevant experience in architecture, payments, digital platforms, fintech, telecommunications, or related technology environments Strong experience in payments systems, payments integration, architecture design, and technical solution design, Developing Wallet & Core Banking platform roadmaps, reference architecture, and aligning architecture to business capabilities Experience with TOGAF or similar EA frameworks Architecture governance, capability maturity assessments, and standardization efforts Experience designing or integrating digital wallet platforms, super app ecosystems, embedded finance services, or merchant payment ecosystems advantageous Prior experience Financial Services preferred, with experience within the banking/telecom industry and with Mobile Money being an added advantage Experience in Integration & Orchestration, Functional Architecture Design, Technical Solution Design Demonstrated ability to architect end to end fintech wallet solutions with embedded, transparency, privacy, security, and governance, as well as quality assurance and validation methodologies.

Competencies: Functional Knowledge: Deep understanding of mobile money and wallet platforms Strong knowledge of transaction systems, digital wallets, payment APIs, core banking modules. Understanding of KYC/AML compliance, regulatory tech. Experience with high availability, resilience, and secure transaction systems.

Business continuity planning Structuring of contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) Understanding of Open API standards, protocols and methods for modern payment and financial systems Understanding of the Agile software delivery processes (SCRUM, Kanban preferable). Cloud & Platform Expertise Payment gateways, processors, banking integrations, and fintech aggregators IT architecture and project management
