As the business continues to grow, we are looking for a knowledgeable and client-focused Sage Pastel Payroll & HR Support Consultant to join the team. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with strong Sage Pastel Payroll expertise who enjoys solving client queries, providing consulting support, and building long-term client relationships.

Role Overview The Sage Pastel Payroll & HR Support Consultant will provide telephonic and onsite support to clients using Sage Partner Payroll and HR systems. The successful candidate must have extensive practical knowledge of Sage Pastel Payroll functionality, payroll processing, and South African payroll legislation, including BCEA requirements and statutory submissions.

This is not a standard payroll processing role - the successful candidate must be confident answering detailed client questions regarding payroll functionality, compliance, and legislation in real time.

Key Responsibilities Provide telephonic, remote, and onsite support to payroll clients Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls accurately and timeously Assist clients with Sage Partner Payroll and HR system functionality Submit EMP501 reconciliations and statutory submissions via Provide guidance on BCEA and payroll-related legislation Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll, tax, and labour legislation Troubleshoot payroll system and processing queries Build and maintain strong client relationships Identify opportunities to upsell payroll packages, consulting services, upgrades, and payslip solutions Assist with canvassing and generating new business during quieter operational periods Always deliver professional and efficient customer service Minimum Requirements Matric certificate Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous Essential: Sage Pastel Payroll qualification Essential: Current, hands-on Sage Pastel Payroll experience Strong understanding of South African payroll legislation and BCEA requirements Experience with EMP501 reconciliations and submissions Knowledge of Sage HR and other Sage products advantageous PCC knowledge advantageous Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple client queries Willingness to learn and grow within the business Own reliable vehicle essential What our client Offers Opportunity to work within a growing payroll consultancy Exposure to a variety of industries and clients Career growth within payroll, compliance, and consulting Supportive and professional team environment Performance-based commission structure
